The experiential art exhibition “Art Runway NAKANO,” where artists walk the runway holding their own artworks, will take place on November 22 at DEN Gallery in Higashi-Nakano (Nakano Ward). The event is organized by Toyomi Dubai, founder of the Art Runway Association.

Toyomi explains:
“I was deeply inspired by the ART WALK I encountered at World Art Dubai, where artists walk while holding their works. That experience led me to develop Art Runway, Japan’s first experiential art performance.”
This year, Toyomi has already hosted multiple editions:
– Art Runway Otsu (May, in front of JR Otsu Station)
– Art Runway Tokyo (July, at Tokyo Big Sight)
– Art Runway Shibuya (September, at LIL YACE, Shibuya)
Art Runway aims to invigorate local arts and culture while sharing the power of art from Nakano to the world. In addition to the in-person exhibition, the event will be live-streamed online. The highlights will be compiled into a photobook and distributed in 13 countries worldwide.
Toyomi says, “I want to create a unique, immersive art experience while building opportunities for cultural exchange between local communities and the world.”
The event begins at 6:00 PM.
Admission is 1,000 yen, including access to the networking reception starting at 7:00 PM.
